What is Dengue?                                                                                                              

 Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral infection causing a severe flu-like illness and, sometimes causing a potentially lethal complication called severe dengue. It can be painful and harmful and is common in endemic areas.

 Contraindications:

  • Individuals with a history of severe allergic reaction to any component of the vaccine.
  • Admistration to be postponed in individuals suffering from moderate to severe febrile or acute disease.
  • Individuals with congenital or acquired immune deficiency that impairs cell-mediated immunity
  • Individuals with symptomatic Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV) infection or with asymptomatic HIV infection when accompanied by evidence of impaired immune function.
  • Pregnant women and breastfeeding women.

Side Effect

A vaccine, like any medicine, could possibly cause serious problems, such as severe allergic reactions. However, the risk of a vaccine causing serious harm, or death, is extremely small.

No serious problems have been identified with shingles vaccine.

  • · Redness, soreness, swelling, or itching at the site of the injection.
  • · Headache.
